You DO NOT need a high school diploma or GED to become a real estate agent in Oklahoma
Overall, the total cost to become an Oklahoma real estate agent can range from $660 to $1,400, depending on the education provider chosen and whether or not the applicant chooses to join a real estate association. The breakdown is like this: Before applying for a license, the individual must complete a state accredited pre-licensing education course, which usually costs between $100 and $450 depending on the education provider. All applicants must submit a $35.00 fee to apply for a real estate license directly payable to Oklahoma Real Estate Commission at the time of application submission. All applicants must also have a background check processed through IdentoGO which includes a $60.00 processing fee directly payable to IdentoGO. Exam fees are payable directly to PSI and are due before scheduling. Exam fees are due for each examination attempt. Associate Exam - $60.00 License fees AFTER completing the exam: Provisional Sales Associate: $165.00

You must either be a citizen or have a green card or Permanent Resident card to be approved for your Oklahoma real estate license.
After the receipt of the online application and the required background check results are received, applicants will be processed within five business days.
Your results will be sent automatically to OREC. You may have already chosen a brokerage to hang your license with, and if not, now is the time to research/interview brokerages. You'll then log in to the online account you created with OREC and update the status of your license. A $165 fee due at this time.
Your education is good for three years after completion. However, it is recommended candidates take the state exam as soon after completing pre-education as possible for optimal results.
The background check must be scheduled online at IdentoGO. They work with vendors all over the state so finding an office near you shouldn't be a problem. Once the in-person live-scan is completed, your fingerprints will be processed by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the results will automatically be reported to OREC. The process usually takes 2-3 business days to complete and has a $60 fee to be paid directly to IdentoGO.
Once your application has been approved, you will have one year to pass your exam. If you have not passed the exam in one year, you will need to submit a new application.
